Courier costs and import restrictions for sending parcels to Kuwait
The State of Kuwait is an Arab country with a name that means 'fortress built near water' is situated at the tip of the Persian Gulf and shares a land border with both Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Kuwait is often cited as one of the five wealthiest nations based on per capita income - with almost the entirety of that wealth resulting from oil exports. For such a geographically small country, it is surprising that it has an estimated 10% of the world's oil reserves. Parcel delivery to Kuwait is a relatively speedy process given its location. We expect parcels to be shipped to the Middle-Eastern sovereign state within five full working days from the majority of destinations around the world. There is a huge demand for parcels to be sent to Kuwait due to its trading links with not only its neighbours the UAE, but from countries such as China and the US. This major, non NATO ally of the US is divided into three areas Sharq, Jibla and Mirqab whilst popular shipping destinations include the cities Al Ahmadi, Hawalli and Al Salmiya. Kuwait has over three million internet users, however, e-commerce remains predominately limited to on-line banking and financial brokerage. Kuwait City, the capital, is known for its modern architecture and skyscrapers, housing a whole host of businesses which maybe where your parcel may be planned for, as packages arrive in Kuwait in abundance containing documents and business materials. The other major reason parcels are shipped to Kuwait, are for personal reasons as expatriates account for 74% of Kuwait's total population. The population of Kuwait is estimated to be less than 3.5 million, but in coming years as shopping habits change, this could be a potentially valuable market for eCommerce retailers.
