DO NOT USE - Your Items Will Be Broken!

All items in shipment arrived broken despite being tightly packed and individually bubble wrapped

Second try is a charm

So I'm torn. This particular shipment was the second attempt at getting our package from the US to family in New Zealand. If this were the only attempt, UPS et. al. would easily get a 5 star rating. But, you'll note I said second attempt. The first attempt (same package, same contents, same documents, same addresses, etc.) was an unmitigated disaster. Package sat in the Louisville hub for weeks and was eventually returned with a non-sensical reason attached. Box looked like it had been drop kicked down a long runway. Parcel Monkey was good about refunding the full cost of first attempt, so they get brownie points, but UPS gets zero stars. From start to finish it took over 8 weeks to get a package delivered (that eventually took less than 8 days when everyone did their job). In both cases the cost to ship was outrageous...almost $8.00/lb. We're talking steak prices here.

Additional fees to deliver

Package was delivered late. Deliverer wanted additional money to deliver package. They also required 2 forms of ID and 3 copies of her signature. Do not understand why they would make them pay extra for delivery. Almost like ransom to get package.

I've reviewed the UPS tracking history, and the additional charges were related to import duties, a standard procedure for international shipments. Customs inspections are carried out on all international shipments, and these inspections are not within our control. Taxes and import duties may be imposed based on the Customs policies of the destination country. This process is separate from our service and may result in additional charges that the recipient is required to cover.
